4” vs 5” Straight Pipe Comparison

When choosing a 6.6 Duramax delete pipe, the most common options are 4-inch and 5-inch straight pipes.
The 4-inch straight pipe delivers a tighter, raspier exhaust note—especially noticeable at lower RPMs—making it ideal for daily driving or mildly tuned setups where excessive drone is undesirable.
In contrast, the 5 inch straight pipe 6.7 Duramax offers a deeper, more refined tone with less high-pitch resonance. It excels in high-output builds and towing scenarios, where increased exhaust flow is beneficial.

Spelab 6.6L Duramax L5P DP-Back must be used together with our downpipe. The factory downpipe has an integrated SCR assembly and cannot connect directly.
